Rental Voucher
You should present two printed copies of your rental voucher on collection of your vehicle. One for you to retain during the rental and one for the rental agent to keep. We suggest that you keep all documents relating to your rental for two months after the end of the rental.
On arrival a rental car agent retains all right to refuse to provide a vehicle if a driver is unfit to drive or does not
meet the eligibility requirements such as production of a driving licence. If this happens there is no liability on behalf of My UK Hire Car to provide a vehicle and no refund will be made or correspondence entered into.
Cars are designed and insured for a maximum number of passengers. We recommend that you do not exceed the stated number of people in the vehicle. Often this number will be equal to the number of seatbelts in the vehicle. If you do exceed the maximum number of people you may find your insurance is made invalid.
Flight Information Details
If booking a car for collection at an airport location please ensure that you provide a flight number for your arrival. If you do not have the flight number at the time of booking then please ensure that you contact the rental agent prior to collection. If you do not provide a flight number and you are late then it is possible your booking may be cancelled. If this happens there is no liability on behalf of My UK Hire Car to provide a vehicle and no refund will be made or correspondence entered into.
Currency of Fees and Charges
All prices shown on our website are in Pounds Sterling (GBP).
- Child/baby/booster seats are required by law in many countries. To ensure availability these must be booked with the car. It is normal for the rental agent to request that you fit your own seats. Please check with rental agent directly for local laws relating to these.
- One-Way Rentals may be allowed. Please contact us directly with a specific request.
- Delivery, collection and contact details are provided on your voucher. With the exception airport locations you are normally required to make you own way to the rental office to collect your vehicle.
- Out of hours charges may apply if a rental is started outside of normal working hours. If this is chargeable the fee will be payable locally and this amount will normally be noted on your voucher. If you suspect that you are going to be delayed then you should contact the rental agent as soon as possible. My UK Hire Car cannot accept any responsibility if you are delayed and there is no out of hours facility available.

Your rental is booked in accordance with the times and dates on your voucher. If you need to keep the vehicle beyond the original booking time you must contact the rental agent. Any additional costs will be payable locally. Early returns will not normally attract a refund. No refund will be offered for late collections.
Cancellation/Amendment Charges
- Cancellations
If you cancel your reservation you will still be required to pay the Rental Reservation fee unless you have selected the Cancellation and Amendment Waiver. This is paid for at the time of booking and if you amend your booking no charge will be incurred (up to a maximum of two amendments thereafter the £4.95 will be charged). Where a booking is altered direct with the rental agent there is no liability on behalf of My UK Hire Car to provide a vehicle and no refund will be made or correspondence entered into.
Any amendments must be made in writing to My UK Hire Car. Once amended you will receive an Amendment Confirmation email from My UK Hire Car. Please note that the daily rate may alter as a result of the amendment causing a larger or smaller reservation fee to charged. Refunds due will be made within 30 days of the cancellation and charges will be made immediately.
Driving Licence
Drivers must produce a full British driving licence that has been held for at least one year, or in some cases an International Drivers Permit (IDP). Drivers with a new style ‘photo’ licence must have the paper counterpart with them. In certain locations and for some car types, drivers must have held a full licence for a minimum of 2 years.
If a non-UK driving licence is not written in Roman Script then an International Drivers Permit is advisable. An IDP is not acceptable on its own and its must accompany a normal driving licence.
Some endorsements will not be acceptable. If you have any endorsements that you are concerned might not be allowed we recommend that you contact us before booking. No refunds will be given for rentals rejected due to non-production of a driving licence or non-disclosed endorsements. Faxed or photocopied licences are not acceptable.
Additional Drivers are chargeable and the fee is payable locally. Criteria for additional drivers is exactly the same as for the main driver.
Security deposits
Security deposit amounts will vary by destination. Normally you will need to leave a deposit to cover the collision damage waiver and theft waiver excess and possibly fuel. You will need a valid credit card (debit cards or prepaid credit cards are not usually acceptable) in the name of the lead driver.
Cash or cheques are not acceptable for the security deposit.
If you have an insurance policy in place to cover your excess you will still need to leave a deposit as above. In the event the excess is charged them you normally be expected to pay the rental agent the excess and reclaim this sum via an insurance claim. You should refer to your insurer in this regard.
Breakdown/Accidents
In the event of any mechanical breakdown and/or accidents involving your car, it is important that details are reported to the rental agent immediately.
You will be required to complete an accident report form by the end of the rental period and you should do this with as much detail as possible. The rental agent will advise you regarding whether the police will need to be informed. In so, you should do all you can to obtain a police report of the incident. Full details of third parties should always be obtained.
You will not normally be authorised to instruct a repair on a vehicle and you should always refer back to the rental agent. The contact details will usually be on your voucher and rental agreement.
You should retain copies of all rental documentation in the event an insurance company is involved.
A check-in form must be signed on return of the vehicle. Failure to do so may delay the investigation of disputes regarding
damage excess charges.
Car Type
My UK Hire Car are unable to guarantee a specific vehicle when making a booking. The car shown on your voucher is for
guidance only and may be substituted for an alternative, similar or upgraded car (at no extra cost) at the rental agents discretion.
If you are dissatisfied in any way with the standard of your booked car, you must advise the rental agent
immediately and inform My UK Hire Car in writing within 56 days of your return.

By booking through My UK Hire Car you accept that our total liability to you is limited to the amount actually paid by
you, to us for the rental reservation fee. My UK Hire Car retain the right to cancel any booking and provide a full refund at any time up to the start of the rental.
